Freiplastik nach dem Modell 7/64 / Free-Standing Sculpture Based on Model 7/64
For this work, Erich Hauser joined concave and convex curved steel sheets to form a freestanding cuboid. In general, this artist’s numerous public sculptures can primarily be found in public squares and buildings. This freestanding work in nature is an exception in this respect, but nonetheless clearly highlights characteristics of his work. Through the interplay of inward and outward curved surfaces, the form becomes dynamic, opening up to a play of light and shadow. The arrow-shaped corners on the individual segments direct viewers to look in all different directions. Taking in the overall composition is like being sent on an expedition of sight.
