JETZT und der Fluss / Now and the River

Christian Hasucha’s work directly addresses time and change. The word Jetzt, meaning Now, is outlined in heavy stone gabions and functions as a window with a view of the slowly flowing Seseke River and the constantly changing landscape. On the other side of the Braunebach tributary, two carefully positioned benches provide visitors with an optimal view of the Seseke’s meandering reflective surfaces and the horizon through the letters.
Of course, the word Jetzt / Now is an expression of the present. At the same time, sculpture shows us: a “now” can’t be determined or fixed. What we see is a constant process of change. This includes the visitors resting on the new landmark, posing for photos, and being inspired to have conversations or personal philosophical reflections.
