Kinetische Plastik / Kinetic Sculpture

Arnulf Hoffmann’s kinetic sculpture is a slender steel bundle pillar whose horizontal struts extend into space on all four sides. The metal struts begin at a height of about three metres and form seven segments of equal size until the top of the pillar. On two opposite sides, circular moveable metal discs have been inserted into the segments, which turn on their middle axis and thus form constantly changing constellations. The delicate and yet expansive sculpture offers different views changing both with every breeze and with the changing position of the beholder.
