Untitled

As part of the Skulpturenmeile in 2002, Eva Weinert created a spatial sculpture out of two different sized red steel cubes. The cubes are joined together, so that they each have one edge resting directly on the pavement. The smaller block appears to support the larger one. The dimensions of both blocks are related, in that the length diagonally across the base of the smaller cube matches the edge length of the larger cube. The sculpture makes reference to the surroundings, which are also characterized by the different sized rectangles and cubes in the architecture. In this way, these existing structures become more striking and simultaneously enter a new, autonomous artistic system.
