Raumpflug / Spatial Plow

Wilfried Hagebölling’s Spatial Plow is located on the grass near City-See. It consists of six rectangular Corten steel plates that begin as flat surfaces and develop into the space above them. The first three steel plates rest side by side on the ground, forming three tracks that are reminiscent of furrows in soil. The three adjacent steel plates begin on the ground and are each bent upward along a diagonal. The vertical sections form a triangle that is reminiscent of a plowshare. Although the composition is made up of flat and bent sheet metal, the sculpture seems to plow through the space around it, including the soil.
