Würfel / Cube

In his sculptures, Günther Zins employs the line as a tool to define space. Likewise, this work consists of slender stainless steel rods that have been welded into a cube to form a sort of linear spatial drawing. Suspended in a narrow passageway between two old buildings, the cube has the appearance of a floating three-dimensional object. Depending on the light, its shadow can also be seen on one of the walls as a two-dimensional perspective drawing. The simple geometric form thus creates variations on the themes of visual dimensions, sculpture and drawing, and stability and lightness.
