Große Kurve I / Large Curve I

Since the 1950s, Norbert Kricke countered constructivist sculpture with a dynamic linear approach that was closely related to the informalist painting of his time. He uses flexible metal rods and wires to form abstract works, which he calls spatial sculptures, as they seem to dynamically pass through space and set it in motion. The Large Curve is made out of stainless steel rod that is curved in an irregular pattern, so that it looks different depending on where you are standing. It nevertheless appears to capture the linear trail of a movement.
