This abstract geometric sculpture is simultaneously linear and voluminous. Although the industrial stainless steel tube maintains a constant diameter, it is assembled out of segments of different lengths at various angles (but never at a right angle). As such, a tension is created as a result of the interplay between artistic freedom and standardized industrial materials. Here and throughout his oeuvre, Friedrich Gräsel sees industrial production as a challenge that the artist and the viewer have to face.
